Welcome to MAREX, a joint German-Vietnamese research project that was dealing with the building boom in Hanoi and its environmental impacts.
The main focus was on the management of mineral resource extraction, processing, use and recycling. Having this in mind, the project was seen as a contribution to sustainable development in Vietnam.
MAREX was sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), via the framework of the International Partnerships for Sustainable Technologies and Services for Climate Protection and the Environment (CLIENT) which is part of the FONA program. Funding has been approved by the BMBF in July 2015.
As of December 2015, additional sponsoring to activities of the Vietnamese partners have been approved by the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), and by the government of Hoa Binh province respectively.
The project was realized from 2015 to 2019.
